Ranking Ledger Noise Without Chasing Ghosts

General ledgers produce volume. Without ranked anomaly scores, reviewers either sample randomly or chase every weekend posting. Neither approach protects the month-end close.

We prefer score bands that combine magnitude, timing irregularity, and authorisation path. A large manual journal after cut-off with a single approver should outrank a routine accrual that simply looks large in isolation.

Document the thresholds next to the close calendar. When pressure rises, teams need to know which score floor still gets a human look and which can wait for the next interim cycle.
