Counterparty Scores Boards Can Actually Read

Boards do not need every supplier ranked. They need a comparable score for the counterparties that could move cash, margin, or reputation if they failed—or if your exposure to them grew unchecked.

Pair payment behaviour with concentration and contract terms. A slow-paying debtor with modest exposure may score lower than a punctual supplier that represents a third of a critical cost category.

Keep the visual quiet: band, reason codes, and next review date. Leave the raw extracts in an appendix for the finance team. Clarity at the top table depends on restraint.

When commercial and finance share one scorecard, credit limits and dual-sourcing conversations stop being separate arguments.
